The Literacy and Essential Skills (LES) Program is here to improve your literacy, numeracy and digital skills to help you achieve your goals! The LES Program is available to Ontario residents who are not currently attending school and communicate in English.

 

The LES program serves learners who have goals to increase their independence and successfully transition to secondary school, post secondary, apprenticeship or employment opportunities.

 

There is no cost to participate in this program.

 

The Learning Centres offer:
  • Welcoming, safe and friendly classrooms
  • Individual learning plans
  • Self-paced learning
  • Computers in all classrooms
  • Transportation assistance to eligible participants
  • Daytime and evening classes
  • Part time and full time

What are the program hours?
Day classes: September - June: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Night classes: September - June (Barrie): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Summer classes: July (Barrie): Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
