Summer School 2013

Each year the Simcoe County District School Board offers a variety of summer programs to over 2,000 students.Summer School provides students an opportunity to be better prepared for their future academic goals. 

See below for details of this year's programs and join us this summer.  Be sure to register early as many classes fill quickly.

Summer School bus route information will be available in June. 

Deadline registration for

July full credit program is June 28, 2013

August full credit program is July 5, 2013

 


Registration for SCDSB Students

Current SCDSB elementary and secondary students use the Summer School Online Registration link to register for summer programs.  Your will need your school username to register using Online Registration.  See your Principal/Guidance if you require assistance.

All registrations will be approved electronically by your Principal/Guidance to complete the registration process.


Registration for Non-SCDSB Students

At this time the online registration tool is only available for SCDSB students.  Those who are not currently registered at a Simcoe County District School Board elementary or secondary school are welcome to attend the 2013 Summer School.  See below for details of the various programs.   Complete the appropriate registration form (available on this page) and have it signed by the Principal or Guidance staff at your home school.  Take the registration form to your nearest Learning Centre to complete the registration process.

Adult students not currently registered at a school are also welcome to attend summer classes.Those individuals who want to earn credits to complete their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and/or to prepare for their future academic goals can choose from over 30 grade 11 and 12 credit courses.  Visit your local Learning Centre with a transcript available from your last high school to register for a summer program.

  • 9 & 10 English & Math Credit Upgrade

  • Grade 9 Math Transfer Course

  • Grade 10 Civics and Careers Credit

  • Grade 11 and 12 Credit Courses

  • Collingwood Grade 12 English

  • Cooperative Education

Geneva Park Leadership Program

The Simcoe County District School Board, in partnership with the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, is pleased to announce an exciting new initiative at Geneva Park near Orillia.  Students have the opportunity to attend camp, create lasting friendships, enjoy a great outdoor education experience and earn credit(s).  Students will live on site and earn valuable certifications, including First Aid and CPR.  For more information please click here.

YOUNG LEADERS

Dates: June 30th to July 27th
Age: 15-16 year olds
Cost: $2000 +HST (Support available through the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign)

ADVANCED LEADERS

Dates: July 28th to August 24th
Age: 16-17 year olds
Cost: $2000 +HST (Support available through the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign)

Adult & Continuing Education, in partnership with EduTravel, are pleased to announce two exciting opportunities for students to travel and earn credits this summer. 

The Careers and Civics credits for travel will take students to Ottawa, Montreal and New York in July.
