Night school programs offer secondary school credits in a variety of subjects for students completing their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and for students who are preparing for post-secondary education.

Program Structure

All night school courses are offered at the Barrie Learning Centre. Students are expected to attend in-class sessions two evenings each week from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. These sessions occur either Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday, depending on the course.

A $50 cash textbook deposit is required on the first night of class. The $50 will be refunded on the last night of class when the text is returned.

Registration Information

Students currently attending a school in the Simcoe County District School Board:

Register for Night School programs through the guidance counsellor at your SCDSB secondary school.

Students currently atten ding a school outside the Simcoe County District School Board: 

Register for Night School programs at your local SCDSB Learning Centre. You are required to have a piece of government issued ID and a copy of your high school transcript.

Adult Students:

Register for Night School programs at your local SCDSB Learning Centre. You are required to have a piece of government issued ID and a copy of your high school transcript.

You may be closer to a high school diploma than you think! 

Night school students may also be eligible for maturity/equivalency or prior learning assessment (PLAR) credits.
